The CHOSEN SITES are friendly homes for contemplating and discussing
the SEVEN FLAMES for Holistic Synergies and the SEVEN PILLARS of Light.

And we offer these readings for profound contemplation and earnest conversations in these venues.

Project Concept: A Network of "Chosen Sites"
CONTEXT: The first three sub-programs under the HDH Program as enumerated in the existing HDH document are the promotion of the Ten Empowering Paradigms, the promotion of the new ethics for earnest human conversations and the promotion of a synergism-oriented view on aesthetics as a basic faculty that belongs to all humans. All three can be advanced by building, enhancing and promoting a network of venues that would combine elements and activities supportive of these projects. Such venues as defined and described below would serve as centers for like-minded people supporting any aspect of any of the projects, to gravitate, gather, be enriched and be further broadened and enlightened in consciousness.
CONCEPT: SanibLakas Foundation encourages the building or designation of Centers of Holistic Synergies for Enlightenment (CHOSEN) sites in line with the description below, seeks formal commitments from operators of such sites to maintain or continue strengthening their venues along those lines, and commits to publicly recognize and support these by supplying them with certain articles and by widescale propagation throughout this network and via the mass media, including the Internet. SanibLakas holds the prerogative to delist from its official list of Chosen sites any specific venue that is found to have lost its actual qualification for such recognition. Care will be taken to avoid any antagonism or recrimination in such process of delisting. SanibLakas will encourage support the formation of a loose inter-venue "Chosen Sites Club" to broaden participation in managing and developing existing sites and in building additional ones.
CONTENT: At the Minimum, each CHOSEN site should carry the following components and activities, to be specifically covered in each case by a Memorandum of Understanding to be signed by the Foundation and the owners/operators of the site:
Components:
Overall clean and wholesome, healthful and generally serene atmosphere, Nature motif in at least one major part of the venue (with living plants and animals); welcoming and serene atmosphere; with privacy against passersby; place to meditate alone; place for quiet conversation for about 25 people; wall place to hang some paintings; wall place to hang texts of "Seven Flames for Holistic Synergies"; a team of at least three people to insure maintenance and continuing development of the place as a "Chosen" site; at least a shelf-scale collection of readings on spirituality and the Ten Empowering Paradigms, the Seven Flames and the Seven Classics (Desiderata, etc.); and at least ten pre-paid subscriptions covering ten issues of the journal, LightShare
Activities:
Regular hours open for meditations and sharings; regular minimum sked for Sanib-Sinag session (one afternoon weekly) regular sked for Sanib-Tinig or "art jam" (one evening monthly); regular monthly sked for lecture-forum on sub-topics of synergism principle.

OTHER CANDIDATES: Maryknoll Ecological Sanctuary (Baguio); Tam-awan Village (Baguio); Titus Brandsma Center (QC); Likha-Diwa sa Gulod (UP); Kamarikutan (Palawan) Wildlife Rescue Center (Palawan); Earth Haven (San Mateo); (Philippine High School for the Arts (Makiling, Laguna); Banahaw (Quezon); Miriam College Mini Forest (QC); Manila Mini-Forest (near City Hall), plus sites in Davao City, Cebu City; Guimaras and Boracay.
WORK PLAN:
1. Finalize concept paper in consultation with SanibLakas and SALIKA leaders and potential participants
2. Draft general texts for MOA and letters of proposal
3. Launch the public recognition and promotion of the first five venues, including the Chosen Site website.
4. Convene a meeting of the operators/managers of the first venues
5. Prepare to expand the list of Chosen sites to 15, covering Luzon, Visayas & Mindanao
6. Convene an assessment meeting after three months

SanibLakas ng Taongbayan Foundation, hereinafter referred to as "SanibLakas," a foundation duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of the Philippines; and

Both are united on the principles and beliefs expressed in the following declaration.

In these C h o s e n sites in our hearts.GENERAL UNDERSTANDING:
This instrument pertains to a General Understanding between SanibLakas Foundation and ________________________ to the effect that SanibLakas, through its Human Development and Harmony (HDH) program, shall recognize and promote as a "CHOSEN Site" a designated area within, or the entirety of, the ________________________ premises, and the latter shall preserve such area in line with the set qualifications for "CHOSEN sites," as covered by the Specific Points of Commitment hereunder.
SPECIFIC POINTS OF COMMITMENT:
SanibLakas shall (1) display at the entrances of the said area signs that indicate the area to be a "CHOSEN site," (2) include this site in all promotions, posters and announcements enumerating "CHOSEN sites" within and outside the Philippines; (3) provide the necessary training and consultancy for the proper maintenance of the said area as a "CHOSEN site," and (4) provide a period of no less than 30 days after a formal notice in case recognition of this status shall be withdrawn for any reason which shall be limited to violations of the CHOSEN sites concept and/or this Memorandum of Understanding.
________________________ shall: (1) appoint a three-member committee that shall insure the operation and maintenance of the area as a "CHOSEN site" and submit their names to SanibLakas; (2) provide for the area to be kept clean and wholesome, with healthful and generally serene atmosphere, with Nature motif in at least one major part of the venue (with living plants and animals); with privacy against passersby; place to meditate alone; place for quiet conversation for up to 25 people; wall place to hang some paintings; wall place to hang texts of "Seven Flames for Holistic Synergies"; at least a shelf-scale collection of readings on spirituality and the Ten Empowering Paradigms, the Seven Flames and the Seven Classics (Desiderata, etc.); (3) schedule and hold weekly sharing sessions of Sanib-Sinag; (4) hold as regular sessions of "Sanib-Sining" as frequently as possible; (5) secure ten pre-paid subscriptions covering twelve issues of the journal (each subscription to cost P100) to LightShare; (6) contribute articles and written feedback to LightShare; and (7) cause the signatory to this agreement and the three members of the aforecited committee to be members of the ____________________ chapter of the Chosen Sites Club.
